ADMISSION INTO HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION FOR 2012/2013 THROUGH CENTRAL ADMISSION SYSTEM

Admission into Higher Education Institutions for 2012 /2013 through Central Admission System
The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) in collaboration with the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) hereby informs all prospective applicants to higher education institutions for 2012 / 2013 admission in particular those who have to apply through the Central Admission System (CAS) that for applicants who have completed their ‘A’ level in 2012 they will start to apply from 7th May 2012 to 30th June 2012.

All prospective applicants should apply online during this period as there will be no extension after the deadline.
Applicants with Diploma in Education and Full Technician Certificate (FTC) will also start to apply from Monday 7th May 2012.

The non-refundable application fee for this year is Tshs.30,000= (Thirty thousand only) for applicants with Tanzania Certificates.  The fee is payable through scratch cards which are available in all NBC Bank branches throughout the country.
Applicants are advised to purchase the scratch cards from the NBC Bank Branches only and not otherwise.

Please note that you will also find some of the cards printed Tshs.50,000= The Commission has resolved that these cards be sold at Tshs.30,000= only. Make sure you pay only Tshs.30,000= for these cards.
You are required to keep the scratch card safely after use for future reference when needed.

Non Tanzanians will be required to pay US$ 60 through the NBC Bank Branches and will be issued an on line number for use to access the CAS for admission.
All applicants with foreign certificates (e.g. Cambridge, Baccalaureate, Uganda etc) will start lodging their applications from 21st May 2012 to 30th June 2012.

NB: Students with less than two principal passes (two “Es”) at ‘A’ level and less than 3 credits (“C” grade) at ‘O’ level are advised not to attempt to apply or purchase scratch cards as they do not have the minimum requirements for admission to higher education institution degree programme.  The system can only process applicants with 2 principals and above and not otherwise as the minimum requirements for admission.  It is therefore advised that you read the admission requirements carefully as presented in the admission guidebook to avoid unnecessary inconveniences.

  1. Having read this I believed it was very enlightening.
I appreciate you spending some time and effort to
put this short article together. I once again find myself personally
spending way too much time both reading and leaving
comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile!
